Lots of people want to see changes in H!P. I’ve seen tons of blog posts like ‘here’s what i’d do if i was Tsunku,’ and now I want to do one as well.

Here is what I want to see happen in H!P now that the extra baggage Elder Club is gone. This partly stems off the rumour that Sengoku Minami is joining Berryz Koubou, after her role in the Berryz Koubou stage play and her mysterious appearance on the pamphlet for the Berryz Koubou fanclub tour in Hawaii.

Let’s start with the main unit, Morning Musume:

  • Lead roles will shift for every single, as lots of people wish for. There will still be a face, and that can be either Takahashi or Reina, it doesn’t matter to me as both of them can sing.
(i.e.: one single can have Reina and Eri lead, the next can have Reina+JunJun lead, and so forth)
  • The ninth generation will join in mid 2009, there’d be four members: 2 from japan, ages 12 and 14, and 2 from either china, taiwan or korea, ages 12 and 13.
  • This mysterious 9th album that has yet to be announced but seems inevitable with the four new mysterious Momusu songs in their recent fall concert will be released in April of 2009.
  • Momusu songs will be fun again, like they were when the 5th generation joined. We are fans of the ballads and serious songs that have been released recently, but enough, already!
  • No graduations until 2010, I don’t think any of the members are ready yet.
  • Takahashi will start her solo career, and hopefully be more successful than Goto Maki or Abe Natsumi.
  • Tanpopo will restart, possibly under a different name, with Niigaki as leader and JunJun, Mitsui and possibly a 9th generation member.

Now for Berryz Koubou:

  • Sengoku Minami will join Berryz Koubou. She already has a small name for herself with Ongaku Gatas, and Berryz will only boost her popularity. Plus we already know that 8 is Tsunku’s favourite number.
  • Berryz Koubou will get just as much promotion as C-ute. It’s sad to see such a talented group get pushed underwater by a less established group.
  • They’ll still continue they’re fun releases as of late, but PVs will get a makeover and have plotlines and lots of alternate versions
  • Leads will shift for this. Risako can remain the face, but I’d love to see Maasa reprise her lead in Anata Nashi or Kumai start to reclaim her role as one of the four faces.

C-ute’s the next group I would work on:

  • Chisato needs more lines. Maimi needs less
  • same promotion as Berryz, reason is stated above
  • Make this less the Airi and Maimi show, with C-ute as backup dancers and give everyone a chance.
  • C-ute should live up to it’s name, in my opinion. I was a fan of the spunky cute songs that they released when they were still indies, but so far their major label singles and albums haven’t really impressed me.
  • Ditch Tension Ageko. She’s lame.
  • Furukawa Konatsu could join as the 8th member, to balance it out with Berryz addition of Minami

That’s what i’d do with the main groups, but here’s what i’d do with H!P as a whole:

  • Pucchi Best would change from just a compilation to maybe a 2 disc original album of all H!P. For example, each group would have their best selling single of the year on the album, and then a full H!P song, a la Natsu LOVE ROMANCE, then the rest of the original tracks could be groups of members from different groups like a Momoko and MIttsi song and other groups like that. That way people would buy it for more reason that just one extra track.
  • Buono! would stick to ska music, like My Love. That song is my favourite Buono! track and I want to see more of it.
  • Eri, Nakki and Captain would form a hip hop dance group, with Eri doing a majority of the vocals and Nakki and Captain doing the rap. Each single could feature a different Hello! Project member as a singer to help out Eri.
  • Fukuda Kanon would debut as a soloist within the next year. She’s got a great voice, a lot of talent and a ton of potential.
  • Maeda Yuuka, Ogawa Saki and Komine Momoka would form a technopop group to follow the trend of technopop recently (like HALCALI and Perfume). The group would be permanant, so all the eggs would debut.
  • There would be an audition for new H!P eggs to fill up the spaces where the eggs debuted.
  • There would also be new “Hello! Project Kids” auditions to fill in the spaces where berryz and c-ute members will leave when they eventually graduate.

That’s how I think H!P should round out, to keep themselves updated. New groups are always welcome and I am excited to see what really happens in H!P. It’d be great if it was like this, so i’ll keep my fingers crossed!
